A Greek Tax Registration number (also referred to as “AFM” in Greece) is required for all persons and legal entities transacting in Greece, even if such persons are not physically in Greece and/ or are nor tax residents of Greece.
The application and issuance of a Greek tax registration number for persons who are not Greek tax residents is effected through a special procedure and at a specific Greek tax authority. The appointment of a Greek tax resident as tax representative for communication purposes of the Greek authorities with the non- tax resident is required.
